TABLE MOUNTAIN, ROBBEN ISLAND & THE WInelands
TableMountain Cape Town is the gateway to the Western Cape, Northern Cape and Namibia. It has often been rated as one of the places to visit before you die, and it is not hard to see why when you see its spectacular mountains, gorgeous coastline and natural and unique fauna.

Robben Island, Cape Point, Kirstenbosch, the Winelands are just a few of the must see places in this beautiful region. The Mother City, as Cape Town is affectionately known is one of the most popular coastal towns in Southern Africa. It is the ideal location for holidays, conferences and breakaways.

While the Northern Cape and Namibia showcase some of the most beautiful dessert landscapes in the world. Contrasts abound in this region between the proliferation of flowers in spring in the Namaqualand, to the skeletal sand dune landscapes of Sossusvlei and the sandstone vistas of Fish River Canyon.

Popular places to stay in the city are in the Waterfront and central area and Atlantic Seaboard areas, the Southern Suburbs & South Peninsula area or the False Bay coast.

Heading out of town visitors can stay in the Winelands or head further out to experience the glories of the Western Cape.

For a longer trip away from the City visitors can head to Kimberley and the Northern Cape for a West Coast wilderness experience or beyond South Africa's borders to the dessert landscape of Namibia.

Within a day's driving distance of the city visitors can also head out to the Winelands to sip that quaffable glass of wine or head to Hermanus to watch the whales in spring or escape the city, or head up the West Coast to experience gorgeous beaches and wildflowers.

If you fancy heading out a bit further you can trip the Orange river, stare in awe at the Augrabies falls or tour the desserts of the Kalahari and Namibia. This is a region filled with opportunities for play, exploration and touring, so pack your bags...

Cape Town and its surrounding regions is a gastronomic delight with some of the world's top chefs and restaurants based in the region. The question is not to eat but where to eat and how to choose. From trendy inner city eateries to Winelands and country cuisine which are world class and delicious, There is so much to choose from and so little time.

The region also celebrates its food heritage with a wide variety of food and drink festivals throughout the year - from the Bastille Festival in Franschoek to the Robertson Wacky Wine Weekend and Stellenbosch's Wine Festival and the Good Food and Wine Show in Cape Town's City Centre.
